  • 3D Printing: Jewelry Fabrication & Arts Camp (Gr 2 - 6) *NEW

    Bring your creations to life in this 3D printing class. The ancient craft of jewelry making is brought to the modern world using TinkerCad and 3D printers. Students will learn to build 2D and 3D models on the computer using CAD software. They will design and print a pair of earrings, or a pendant in this class.   • BMX Pedal Bike Racing (Ages 4 & up)

    Rum River BMX is the #1 indoor facility in the country. Unlike traditional sports, in BMX, no one sits on the bench! BMX riding is a great way for kids and adults to stay active, build confidence, develop important life skills, connect with others, and have fun. This session will cover BMX fundamentals including “What is BMX racing?” racing bike types, BMX terminology, and BMX safety. Also, the most important lesson, how to RIDE LIKE THE WIND! Students will receive hands-on riding instructions and will practice their new skills on the BMX track. This course is designed for new riders (novice) who are interested in the sport. If you can pedal your bike without training wheels, you can take part in this class. No special bikes are required, if it has wheels, a few adjustments and we will make it work for this class (your bike will need to have the reflectors, kickstand, chain guard, and pegs removed). If you do not have a bike, we have a fleet of HARO race bikes available at the track for use on a first come first serve basis. A full-face helmet is recommended, as helmets are required. You must wear long pants, a long-sleeved shirt and close-toed shoes. *Children as young as 4 are welcome as long as they can pedal.     This basketball option is the perfect choice as the games and activities can be adjusted to accommodate most ages and skill levels. Our party facilitator will give various game options from "Horse" to "Lightning" to regular basketball games, relay races and dribbling competitions. Don't delay, book you basketball party through Community Education for a fun filled party! ***Please book using the birthday child's name. Parties must be booked a minimum of 10 business days in advance. Cambridge-Isanti Community Education will contact you within 2 business days of submitting your party request. All parties are subject to staffing and facility availability. Prices vary by the party choice and length of time. Payment is due in full upon booking the party. If a cancellation needs to happen, Community Education must be notified 3 business days prior to the party to receive a full refund less a $25.00 cancellation fee.     In this class students will learn the basics and begin to play the hit role-playing game Dungeons and Dragons with others that are also interested in the game. Students get to create a character using their imagination and then play in a fantasy world where they become the hero.

    The fun and easy way to host an awesome birthday party! You bring the treats and we'll provide the pool. Parties include 2 hours of swim time and 1 hour in room for presents and food. Each party can accommodate up to 40 swimmer. Extra charges will apply for more than 40 swimmers. Include is time for food and presents. Please book using the birthday child's name.     Join us this summer for some girls basketball! Grades K-3: Focus on the basic skills and rules of the game, with the goal of piquing interest in the sport. A junior size basketball and lower baskets will be used to set you up for success. Grades 4-8: Focus on individual and team development.     Athletes will receive supervised and structured acceleration, circuit and weight room training to increase speed and body strength. Results will be verified with pre and post testing. Activities will be broken up to allow for ultimate muscle breakdown and recovery. This activity is designed for the serious athlete or fitness enthusiast. Workouts will be intense.   • Cambridge Middle School May Play Snow White (NEW)

    Cambridge Middle School students will rehearse and perform a short play (Snow White) while growing and expanding in their theatre skillset. Participants will experience many aspects of performance, including voice, movement, character development, script analysis and teamwork. Friday, May 3rd will be auditions for the parts in the play. The auditions will consist of some games and readings, both individually and in groups, so be willing to explore new and fun characters. Participants do not need to have anything prepared, just be ready to have fun! There will be roles for those who would like non speaking parts too! There will be a performance for the students during the day on Friday, May 31st and then one in the evening too. More details will be handed out the first week of rehearsals.

    The Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) program from the American Safety and Health Institute provides everything you need to know for safe and successful babysitting. The YouTube "vlogger" style presentation of the video brings a youthful and high-energy spirit to the program content, and the colorful magazine format of the student book makes learning fun. From getting started with your business, to working with parents and children, to key safety, caregiving, and first aid tips, CABS will help set you up for babysitting success. Students must be present for the entire class and complete the achievement of the core learning objectives to receive certification valid for two years. Students attend this class independently and should come prepared with a notebook and pen. This class is for students aged 11 years and up. A lower rate is available for Cambridge-Isanti students whose families have qualified for the 23-24 Federal free/reduced lunch program. Join Musician Pierre and learn how to strum chords, pick melodies and play an easy classic country song on the acoustic guitar. Student sized acoustic guitar provided or you’re welcome to bring your own. For youth ages 9-11 a parent needs to attend with their child to help with instrument placement if needed. Enrollment is limited to one Family per camp.
