    Minnesota requires insurance companies to offer a reduction in automobile insurance rates for three years to those who attend an accident prevention course. We offer both the initial 8-hour and the 4-hour refresher courses which discuss topics addressing safety, rules, distractions, hazards and driving responsibly. Please note: This class is happening in a new location. These classes will now be happening at the Education Services Center - 625 Main Street North in Cambridge. After the initial course, the refresher course must be taken every three years to continue your insurance discount. Please note: This class is happening in a new location.   • Adventures In Knitting - Online Class

    You bring the yarn and needles. The teacher will bring the patterns. Choose from four project options: hat, slippers, baby sweater or mittens. This class is perfect for knitters of all levels. Projects details: 1. Hat (great for beginners) – about 220 yards of worsted-weight yarn, size 7 16-inch circular needles and size 7 double-pointed needles. 2. Slippers – about 380 yards of worsted-weight yarn and size 9 needles, any type of needle is fine. 3. Baby Sweater – about 220 yards of worsted-weight yarn and a set of size 10 needles, any type of needle is fine. 4. Mittens – about 120 yards of worsted-weight yarn and a set of size 6 double-pointed needles. Join us online! This class will be held using Zoom. Learn the basics: to type word documents, to surf the web safely, to save pictures to your computer from the internet, camera or phone, to send and read emails, simple short-cuts, best practices, and peek at programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. This class is designed for those NOT using Apple devices. There will be plenty of time for questions and personal attention. We encourage you to bring your own laptop, however you can use one of ours if necessary.

  • Minnesota Star Watch with Mike Lynch - All ages welcome with an adult!

    Make the stars your friends! Class will begin indoors followed by quality time outside under the heavens. Large reflecting telescopes, including two that are among the biggest mobile telescopes in Minnesota, will give you close-up views of star clusters, nebulae, galaxies and other wonders in our skies. Fee includes: Star maps and constellation charts, a telescope buying guide, and more. Please dress for the weather and bring a comfy lawn chair.

    Learn how to make and sew on diagonally-pieced, double fold binding with a final diagonal join that will look just like your other joining seams. Explore other types of binding - flanged, wide, faux and more! Bring a small item that has been quilted and is ready for binding to practice your skills. Practice the basic techniques for preparing and handling galette pastry.
