    We offer classroom and behind-the-wheel driving instruction that is required to become a licensed driver in the state of MN through a curriculum designed by professional educators and taught by licensed teachers. The State of Minnesota requires potential drivers under the age of 18 to complete and pass a minimum of 30 hours of classroom instruction. Students are required to be registered for Behind-the-Wheel (6 hours)instruction before they are eligible to take their permit test. For information on the steps to become a licensed driver, go to c-ischools.org. Click on Community, then Community Education. Due to signature requirements, phone registrations are not available. Classroom instruction only: $165 ($145) Behind-the-Wheel instruction only: $295 ($259) Both: $409 ($359) - over $50 savings! - savings will be reflected in your online cart (prices in parentheses for C-I students who qualify for the Federal Free and Reduced price lunch program) Please add students cell number( if applicable) and email address/addresses to your online account when registering and also make sure parent or guardian information is listed, not just the student.
  • Driver's Education Behind the Wheel

    The state of Minnesota requires permitted drivers under the age of 18 to complete 6 hours of driving instruction with a qualified instructor, with an additional 50 hours of driving with an adult, licensed driver. Drivers must hold a permit for 6 months before they are eligible to take the driver road test. Register in person at the Community Education office with your blue Classroom Instruction completion letter.

A make up date will be offered for each class, date to be determined. At this time all summer classes will be held in person at the high school. New! Due to COVID-19 and the limited availability of DMV testing sites, it’s hard to find a place to take your proctored Learner’s Permit Test. Cambridge-Isanti Schools will offer this for $9/student ($5 for C-I students who qualify for the 2020/2021 Federal free/reduced lunch program) after the end of each Classroom session.
